Upon graduation from West Point, he was assigned as a Scout Platoon Leader in the 10th Mountain Division- where he made his first deployment to Afghanistan in 2006. After that deployment he attended the Special Forces Qualification Course and was assigned to ODA 1315 with the 1st Special Forces Group. He made two more deployments to Afghanistan in 2009 and 2011. Dan was honorably discharged from the Army in 2012. Since leaving the military he worked with Goldman Sachs and an Operating Partner at Cold Bore Capital.
Dan graduated from Ranger School, the Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leaders Course (RSLC), Airborne School, and the Special Forces Qualification Course. He was the Iron Man Award winner at RSLC and the Special Forces Qualification Course. He earned two Bronze Stars for Leadership Excellence in combat. He holds an MBA from Kenan Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina.
